Christmas card making has been temporarily interrupted by my granddaughter's twelfth birthday. This, of course, is quite a milestone because Ava is now one step closer to becoming a "TEENAGER"!
Here is the card I made for her.
It took me quite a long time to think of a theme for this special birthday because she's no longer a little girl, but is well on her way to becoming a young lady. So circus clowns, balloons and sweet little faces have to give way to some type of transition. What better way than to highlight lipstick and shoes!
I started with a cardstock colour combination of Melon Mambo, Purple Posy, Highland Heather and Very Vanilla. I used the Curvy Dies for the side panels and ran them through the Stampin' Up! Cut and Emboss Machine using the Dainty Diamonds 3D embossing folder. The wonderful images on the front of the card are from the stamp set Dressed to Impress. The letters were cut using the Playful Alphabet Dies and some Rainbow Glimmer Paper. In order to adhere the letters I used some Mini-Glue Dots, cut in half. Once cut, they were very tiny and fiddly to use, but Grandma persevered and completed the task.
The inside of the card used an entirely different stamp set, A Grand Kid. With seven grandchildren, this will see a lot of use!
